Occasionally, the lakes of the Salzkammergut region are totally frozen-over and attract passionate ice-skaters and curlers.

The Postalm, Zwölferhorn and Hintersee ski areas are easily accessible by car within 30 minutes. Easy slopes and lifts for beginners and kids are right on the doorstep.
We recommend the Postalm ski area which is Europe's second highest plateau and Austria's largest interconnected mountain pasture area.
Snow is guaranteed from Christmas to Easter. Snowboarding, snow biking, carving, powder-snow skiing, mogul pistes, jumping, border-cross to Kinderwaldbahn. Floodlit toboggan run, ice rink, curling ground, tubing and much more.
You may also go in for a snowshoe hiking tour or cross-country skiing and bask in the sun afterwards! Snowshoe rental available!
